2025-05-19 17:00:06Saint Priest Martyr Alexandru of Basarabia was arrested in 1918 for promoting Romanian national awareness and resisting Bolshevik influence in Bessarabia. He refused to renounce his beliefs and was brutally tortured and killed by Bolshevik soldiers. He was beaten, dragged through the village, and ultimately shot to death.
