All of my patients have a place in my ❤️, but the young women, many of them young mothers in their 20s and 30s, who died of cervical cancer, now preventable with the HPV vaccine, are etched in my soul. Cervical cancer commonly causes awful pain & bleeding before leading to death. We were close to eradicating this horrendous cancer. Now that’s gone poof thanks to the cowards who voted to confirm #rfkjr
*HPV vaccine also prevents head&neck, penile & anal cancers
**I’m also deeply worried about the increased risk now of deaths & disability by other viruses, but cervical cancer deaths in young women being vaccine-preventable is vastly under-recognized & underreported, so in my niche as an oncologist I chose to post about this
