Long Distance Calling's music got more sophisticated throughout the years, yet their very first album is unrivaled in terms of complexity and nuance: Satellite Bay is one of the best post-rock albums ever - no fluff, just stuff.
Accentuating, its first song – Jungfernflug – is an absolute masterpiece: Epic long-form storytelling without using a single word. Wonderful build-up and dynamic progression, ending with a beautiful crescendo. To me, this is the story of life in acoustic form.
