HISTORY OF PHYSICS
Karen Ter-Martirosyan was one of the favorite students of Lev Landau and member of the ITEP, Moscow. He also was the teacher of the great Soviet physicist Alexander (Sasha) Zamolodchikov, known for his contributions to conformal field theory, statistical mechanics, string theory and condensed matter physics. He is currently the C.N. Yang – Wei Deng Endowed Chair of Physics at Stony Brook University.
Ter-Martirosyan reproached Sasha and his other colleague for "loving three-dimensional salaries, three-dimensional women, but for some reason doing two-dimensional physics."
