Astronauts spend hours every day working out to minimize muscle and bone loss from weightlessness. Researchers have discovered that knee cartilage in mice grows healthier after they complete jumping exercises. Cartilage damage is another major issue that space agencies are concerned about, and it's one of the less-studied health issues for space exploration. The scientists were surprised at the scale of the health effect. Could astronauts add jumping to their workouts?
