I've mostly used Docker-based CIs so far, and a common problem they all had, is that if you cache docker images, they consume unbounded disk space, and if you don't cache them, you end up rebuilding them every time, which makes things slow.
I think a solution to that would be more discipline in buuld definitions to make better use of cache - that could work for projects I have full control over, but orobably not thinfs at $dayjob
