There’s nothing to stop the BIP-177 people from using a new name for sats already. In fact, they don’t even need a BIP to do this. They could, right now, just change the name from “sats” to “bitcoin” (or whatever else they want) in the wallets and products they control, in their own writings, and in their own conversations and transactions with others. Maybe it will catch on and gain adoption, or maybe they’d find that this process has already taken place and that’s how “sats” became the standard. Money and language are universal, and bitcoin is open. Talk is cheap. They ought to put their money where their mouth is, or just let it go already. #satsthestandard
