Your eyes shut off signal to your brain multiple times each second. It's called saccadic suppression. Basically you are blind while your eyes move. That is on top of blinks at a slower rate. Firelight flickers constantly also.
Basically the theory that non visible flickering in our vision stresses us doesn't stand up to any understanding of vision or our history. Every study I've read that indicates otherwise was a mess of uncontrolled confounding variables.
This falls firmly into the category of let me tell you about a problem I made up that I can sell you the cure for.
