It's completely valid to say that colonialism took something truly significant from us:
• A rich tapestry of languages like Bhojpuri, Tamil, and Hindi
• A sense of cultural identity deeply rooted in the Indian subcontinent
• And maybe even the opportunity to flourish on our ancestral lands.
This sentiment isn’t just my own; numerous scholars from India and beyond have explored how indentureship was a calculated act of 'economic and cultural dislocation' during the British Empire Rule.
