Well I don't believe Nostr has accomplished much in the way of sovereign data "ownership". "Anyone" can host a relay but there is little demand. I've implored as to why there is a lack of demand. Nostr data is not inherently valuable, yet it becomes a catch-all warehouse of information through diligence of users who share to public relays.
Users need to truly own their data, or at least a copy. Not all users, but plenty.
I could achieve more censorship-resistance for the majority of content in tradSocial environments simply by sharing my data across a selection of hosts. The odds of all of them censoring me are actually quite low. The odds of having redundant data and discoverability are rather high.
Nostr is similar to Bitcoin in the earlier days. "Yes that's really cool, maybe one day it will have value, but I don't have any problem sending my friends money with Venmo."
