There is an (effectively) infinite amount of content on YouTube spanning all interests. I pay for YouTube premium and get access to it all commercial free. I do not pay for TV or any streaming services and have an incomprehensible amount of content at my fingertips, which I feel is an amazing value.
I watch a fair number of nature films on YouTube and have noticed they are not what I used to think they were. It is truly remarkable how every single mainstream nature film has climate rhetoric, abject doom and extreme human-guilt laced into the content.
Literally every doomer point that’s made in these documentaries has happened before humans existed and will continue to happen after we’re gone.
These films talk about co2 like it’s some new human-made toxin when it’s an essential building block for all life on earth. They literally never mention that atmospheric co2 has been > 20x higher than current levels in the past and life on earth was thriving then.
Constant talk of endangered species and loss of habitat, like that’s never happened before. 99% of all species to have ever existed are extinct today. And on the flip side, human’s habitat and standard of living is going up - but that’s expressly forbidden to mention. Should humans live in dark hovels so that shit-eating gorillas can have more woods to live in? This idea has never once been brought up in these films.
Deserts used to be oceans, savanna’s used to be jungles, mountains used to be wetlands. And on and on and on it goes.
The earth is exceptionally dynamic but the climate clowns want to pretend it’s static. The earth has polluted itself with calderas and massive oil seeps and continental-wide forest fires at scales that humans literally could never replicate. And every time it regenerates itself. Noteworthy.
You never hear of any of these realities in nature films. It is always a heavy emphasis on human-destruction and the insinuation that our species will continue to destroy everything we touch. No hope for regeneration and no mention of human progress or increased flourishing as the flip side of the coin.
I’ve realized these films are a coordinated attack of the climate and Malthusian propagandists. I enjoy the content of a lot of these films but really watch in horror during the psyop portions. It’s wild, and extremely consistent. Even in content dating back to the 80’s.
