In your example I like the original better. But the reason people upset is because it's too good, which means it's threatening to them & they are jealous. If it were actually bad, I guarantee you no one would be crying about it. They would be saying how cool it is that a computer program came up with a painting. But when the computer program can come up with a better painting than theirs, now it's a problem.
It makes average work and mediocrity (evem higher than mediocrity) free. That's a problem for anyone who relied on their own mediocrity to pay their bills.
