Could Satoshi be a Ham or GMRS radio operator?
Read this excerpt from the ARRL HAM Radio License Manual. It sounds very similar to what happens during a node verifying a Bitcoin block:
“Each packet consists of a header, data, and checksum. The header contains information about the packet and the call sign of the destination station. Following the data, there is checksum that allows the receiver to detect errors. If an error is detected, the receiver automatically requests that the packet be retransmitted until the data is received properly. This is called ARQ for automatic repeat request. The rules of the packet radio protocol, AX. 25, ensure that data accepted by the receiver is error-free.”
