I only saw a few minutes and those seemed less worrying than the headlines suggested. He kept his cool, but wasn't able to get the situation back on track.
His English isn't that good, and the acoustics on stage weren't ideal. So he may not have understood everything that was being said, which went all of the place.
Disclaimer: I think Vance is a douchebag worth his weight in shit. Which he is also full of, since he just openly criticized EU "domestic" politics and then gets all sad when Zelensky says something about the US.
