If I've been somewhat quiet lately, it's because I'm looking for a messenger to replace Skype with. 16 tested so far.
I'll post a detailed report when I'm done. For now, long story short, NOTHING can replace Skype, as I've known for years. Most of these 16 are complete crap that doesn't work for me. 4-5 kinda work, although they are complete crap too.
Even if I find the least bad one that works, chances are that my contacts won't agree to use it and some (like my mother's old friends) won't even be able to install it, because it's quite complicated, due to the cryptography involved.
