How effective is Knots filters in preventing fake (unspendable) outputs appear in UTXO set?
My understanding is they can be undistinguishable from valid addresses and remain in UTXO set forever. Also, isn't the main concern of Core team, and what they propose is merely harm reduction to UTXO set?
Bitcoin spam lately is going away, with fees going higher over time I'm keen to expect less and less spam because it will become too expensive, and we already can see jpgs don't hold value.
So, UTXO debris forever or JPEGs for another few years at most? That's the question I don't see anybody is trying to answer in this debate. What is the real cost of these two spam types to Bitcoin network over next 1000 years?
