It’s incredible that the story most of the country was talking about last week wasn’t even allowed to be discussed at Scotland’s parliament.
It’s even more absurd that when the Scottish Conservative leader Russell Findlay did rightly raise it at First Minister’s Questions, John Swinney accused him of “sowing division”.
Sowing division has been the sole purpose of the SNP leader’s career. Not just with his obsession with breaking up the UK, but as the architect or chief henchman for many of his party’s worst policies.
Mr Swinney has chosen to double down on his support for a law that – until it was mercifully blocked by the last UK Conservative government – would have allowed predatory men into women and girls’ protected and single-sex spaces.
