i needed to have some time out this afternoon and went and got a steak and chippy and salad, and a way too big glass of wine
i talked a lot with the brother of the nice girl who works at the shop, the boy and the girl are children of one of the ladies who run the place
got a lot of good info about how to move next and stay here in this funny little vilage, and a good driving school to get my driver's license so i can get a cheap little 125cc bike to scoot around this island, gonna follow that up, and also, line up my next place, with a bathtub, where i can bring my precious kitty with me
i also met some of the crazy people who live here in this village, and watched one go off for no reason and cause a fuss

this is normal, i guess, but my long interaction with one of the people yielded lots of stories about how far down the toilet this society at large is
he was maybe 10 years older than me, but also childless, and busy with some blog and writing career, his business something to do with reporting the state of affairs on this island
based on what i've seen, his stories all fit into the picture very neatly but it's tragic, really tragic what is going on in the world, as he pointed out, almost nobody who is living here under the age of about ... 40...
the place is ded, but the whole society is ded because the number of humans under the age of 30 is now collapsing so fast it's obscene
people are starting to realise there is a really serious problem
