It’s incredible how little external hard disk drive technology advanced between 2010 and now. Capacity went from 3TB to 14TB, but today’s big shingled drives are so annoying that it’s better to stick with 8TB like 2019. Everything else remained pretty much the same, with the SATA dock and built-in hub trends passing in a few years. They’re all micro-USB 3 and even use the same power brick!
