Hummingbird cake for a birthday cake! 🎂
Some of you might be hearing about this cake for the first time—it’s not super common in most bakery, but it’s definitely special. Imagine something like a mix between carrot cake and banana bread: super moist, sweet, and fruity.
It’s called “hummingbird cake” because it’s said to be sweet enough to attract a hummingbird.
We’re usually not fans of nuts and fruit in desserts, but years ago we tried this one and had to change our minds. It’s just so good. The cake is soft, moist and rich, the cream cheese frosting is perfectly creamy, and we added a little touch of salted caramel on top to finish it off. Simple but amazing.
Highly recommend giving it a try if you haven’t before!
