Netanyahu at the JNS Conference in Jerusalem:
“The Arab world slowly understood that Israel is an irreversible fact. But there was one part of the Arab world that adhered to the principle of not recognizing a Jewish state with any borders — this is and still is the obstacle to peace between Israel and the Palestinians. They want to eliminate Israel. They say this and do this. They say it in Ramallah and Gaza.
There is a difference in the textbooks. Hamas says, ‘We will destroy them immediately by military means.’ The Palestinian Authority says, ‘We will first push them back to the 1967 borders using international tools, and then we will conquer them militarily.’ There is no difference in the approach of the Palestinian national movement before and after the establishment of the state.
The idea that a Palestinian state will bring peace is nonsense. We tried it in Gaza!”
