## Chapter 1: Introduction
Hello and welcome to my first nostr article note. I have chosen to start a new profile on nostr because the world is becoming increasingly hostile towards speech.
I have been a Bitcoiner for over 10 years.
I am known by some in the community by other pseudonyms.
I begun my journey down the proverbial rabbit hole in late 2013.
At the time I was in my mid 20s, from a middle class background in Europe.
My professional career has always been in Engineering, with a mix of electrical + computer science. I have gone through many different part time jobs in my teenage years, from serving at cafes, to call centers, to cleaning toilets.
Work was always a means to an end. I did not have a strong sense of purpose in my work life, but I was happy and I knew what I didn't want.
Soon after I discovered Bitcoin, after having consumed as much on the topic of Bitcoin and Money available at the time, it became clear that I wanted to dedicate my life to working and contributing to making Bitcoin the money of the world.
I believed, and I still do today, that helping push the adoption of Bitcoin is highest impact one could make in changing the world for the better.
I had a lot of conviction, and I put my little savings where my mouth was.
My journey led to meeting a lot of wonderful people, I've had an amazing career working in the industry and my decision to put as much of my savings into Bitcoin, as well as the shift in my time preference, has led me to an 8 figure (in fiat terms) net worth and a beautiful family.
My spending habits have not shifted dramatically, my family still lives modestly, we work and our income still provides us with enough to cover all our costs and have more to save.
What sound money has bought us is time. Time to spend with our kids and family when it matters the most. Also, it has bought us a lot of peace of mind in knowing that at any moment we can afford to change jobs, move residence, travel, to look after our health and, importantly, to have an extremely high degree of flexibility and mobility.
Above all, we achieved this in a relatively stress free and passive way.
Bitcoin is the lifehack that enables this and I believe that it will continue to be so for a long time for the rest of my lifetime.
The next chapters of this guide will dive into the kind of advice I would give to my children if they were beginning their adult life now. It is also the kind that I would give to my close friends and family who might be earlier in their Bitcoin journey.
All advice, in particular financial, should take into consideration the personal circumstances of each one. It is impossible to perscribe one thing that absolutely fits everyone 100%. However, my belief is the advice I have to give is applicable to the great majority of people and at the very least should prompt you to think long and hard about whether or not it is the right advice for you.
Most of it is not common knowledge, and that will be your edge. Do with it what you will.
