One frigid winter, Elder Cleopa was in the mountains with his monastic brethren. They had run out of firewood, and the biting wind was relentless. Facing near-certain suffering, the Elder instructed the monks to pray fervently to the Mother of God. Suddenly, a massive, dry tree, untouched by the cold, crashed down directly in front of their hut. They had enough wood to last through the brutal winter.
