I think the next step in human evolution requires us to take a good long look in the mirror at our longing for belonging. It’s this deep need to to have a tribe, and intense fear of being removed from a tribe that causes the isims. Racism, sexism, nationalism, etc. and our inability to see the flaws of “our team” in politics all stem from this belonging instinct.
We’ll stay stuck in political mania, discrimination, and constant war, etc. until we learn to accept and deal directly with our deep need for belonging.
