Before any strike fighter takes off from an aircraft carrier, it's the EA-18G Growler that launches first. Instead of heavy bomb loads, the Growler carries advanced systems designed to jam enemy sensors, clearing the way for strike fighters to advance with a minimum level of safety. Due to the nature of its mission, the Growler is the first to take off and the last to land.
