Dâne-ye anjîr-e ma'âbed AKA The Seed of the Sacred Fig (2024) directed by Mohammad Rasoulof.
The #film deals with the use of the death penalty for dissent in Iran, but it goes further in its indictment by weaving real events and even real footage into a fictional drama. The story takes place during the protests against compulsory hijab wearing that erupted in 2022 after a young woman's death in police custody. 8/10
