I decided to see if I could salvage my old laptop by installing linux on it. After a few head scratching hours (I’m good but I’m not THAT good), my laptop in now the happy harbourer of linux cinnamon mint. It has NEVER worked so well- like born again metal and circuits. I did a total wipe and install, and after briefly using firefox, then reading the news, it now runs on Brave. The only thing that I can say is that if anyone out there is trying to teach people linux, it would be helpful to not use only linux terms for things. “The box thingy that does stuff” is more helpful than “the terminal”. LOL
My lame windows 10 PC is next but I have to save every damn folder and file in some kind of logical way, and then take it outside and blow all the dust out of it before I make it new again. So, that’s going to wait a bit. I’ve got a busy spring coming up. Feels good to have a plan, tho.
