It's not good times that create weak men. It's low estrogen women who create weak men. When women are unaware of the adverse effects of the birth control pill but take it anyway on faith or a doctor's recommendation, rather than their own understanding and weighing of concerns, women make really poor choices in mates, and society is driven into dysfunction. Women control the economy in addition to evolution itself. They drive demand far more than anything else in the economy, and demand generally drives production through incentives. They are also the most selective of mates. If the women are being coerced to take a brain altering drug, your society is fucking done for.
