I made several points you did not seem willing to address.
The bottom line is this,
Tariffs won't be a problem for the united states. Because we export so little and import so much.
Are the cost temporarily passed on to the consumer? Most of the time, unless China decides to subsidize their exports ( which they have every incentive to do).
But it also gives Americans a chance to compete domestically and it promotes other countries to move their manufacturing stateside.
Tariffs hurt the ultra wealthy more so than the poor.
Because food and basic necessities are mostly made locally.
I just don't see any downside and only see bright sides.
