I'd be happy help test and maybe try to get the pi speaking zigbee, but I can't afford a $500 heater. If you're interested in collaborating, maybe I could send you a complimentary HestiaPi? My motivation is that I want people to be able to have nice things like wifi enabled thermostats without having to give up their privacy.
