Hosting your own web site is absurdly easy to do these days. OVH (and others) can rent you a server in the "cloud" for less than €5 per month.
All the software you need is free on Linux and you can use tools to build a dynamic, semi-dynamic or static web site depending on your interest in learning stuff.
You'll also need a domain, which varies from €20 to €40 per year depending on which registrar and domain you pick.
Most small businesses you need a few pages which can be done by hand!
