German law is different to common law that I live under. Do they have a bible in courts in Germany? I imagine so.
There is a very good reason they do, and why they can't remove it.
The highest law in countries that have a bible in court, is called "ecclesiastical law", or roughly speaking, the law passed down to humanity by the creator.
One of the primary tenants of this law is that humanity lives in a free will realm. Which means men and women must consent to a law for it to be lawful.
The implication here is that every law written to govern us, must contain a remedy for those who do not consent.
The usual tactic is to bury the remedy inside the legal act by using words that have a different legal meaning than the common parlance so we are led to believe it means one thing when it actually means another. Or the remedy is buried deep in legislation and you have to spend quite a bit of time trawling through multiple documents to find it.
When you find the remedy, it is then usually a complicated administrative process you need to follow, which convinces most folks to just give up and go along to get along.
Here is an example. Where I live everyone is told that every child in the school system has to have all the vaccines in the official schedule and be up to date on all the boosters.
The public health department is threatening to ban students from school who do not comply with the law.
But if you read through the laws, it doesn't say that at all. What it actually says is that every child who attends a public school must inform the school of their vaccine status regularly, and if they do not, then they can be removed from school if an emergency declaration is made, and they can only return when the emergency measures are lifted.
You can also choose not to comply with the requirement to inform the school, by following an administrative process overseen by the public health department.
It turns out that the public health system has no authoritive jurisdiction over the public school system. So their threat is simply a bluff to scare people.
Your situation might be different in some ways, but I suspect the same foundations exist.
