You have to weigh the chances of something happening against how destructive it would be if that something did happen. A new hard drive is what, $30? Is that worth potentially protecting your whole stack from being targeted, not to mention if your wife and kids are home when they come looking for it?
If we went by the logic of the chances of a thing happening as the only consideration, then no one has any reason to carry a firearm, because the chances of needing to use it are "super minimal."
