I’m sad and at a loss for words. I’ve been grieving Sora for the past year or so (health and old age) so I knew what to expect. I just didn’t think it would happen so quickly. The moment we found out that she was to finally ready to leave, my entire body and set of emotions felt emotionless. The pre-process grieving has definitely added to the fatigue, but when the news came, I felt robotic and accepted what was to come and responded by doing an entire planning mode.
I found a local doctor and her significant other. We decided on them due to their personalized approach and care. They were supposed to do an at home goodbye service and aftercare in the afternoon, but Sora decided to leave on her own terms - 8:39 am pacific, just about two hours after the sunrise and just before the sun started inching towards its highest point. Animals are honestly amazing.
