my best mate and longest enduring continued contact from highschool days lives there... it's really funny because he was always straight edge and then something happened and he ended up in peru and was taking ayahuasca and later went to mexico and magic mushrooms
i don't really have an opinion about it except to say that it's going to be in the new arctic circle in the next 50 years so i'm not that interested in thinking of settling there because permafrost is not a simple thing to live with, especially throw in the mix a massive loss of and reconfiguration of much of the landscape and flora and fauna is going to be part of that conflagration
northern midwest USA i can understand, as i can also understand anywhere balkans, or the central/west of africa and north to the baltics, and hawaii - in a glaciation those are the most likely new equator which will be where it's not frozen
