“Uncomfortable” would be the word (in general) that best describes Riparia’s reaction to crowds when in cities. Always she wants Doppla, her horse, close.
In situations where she isn’t anonymous, where she feels scrutinized & judged, "bumbling anxiety" takes over—
Unless she’s feeling protective of another, or is indignant. Then, self-consciousness is swept away, replaced with "blind fury."
She’s rather complex.
