A friend was sadly going on about DEI
The conversation was painful... but I think I got through to them.
First I asked what DEI meant and they couldn't even get that right... close but not close enough.
Diversity... sure, Equality... nope... inclusion... yup.
'What's the difference' they moan.
So trying to simplify it for them... I said.
"Equality is giving every one a free pair of shoes, so that no one has to walk bare foot."
"Equity, is giving everyone a pair of shoes that fits them."
Seeing the light bulb go off in their head... gotta admit, kinda nice.
