just added note broadcasting to #notedeck because of a specific reason:
I had some notes on my laptop that were not on my desktop. I enabled multicast-only on both nodes and broadcasted the note.
This copied the note from my laptop to my desktop over the local network. these nodes did not have to connect to each other! it just worked.
There's no reason I can't write some code that broadcasts all my notes over multicast at the press of a button. This would back up all my notes to every other notedeck node on the network! This is a bit of a hack until I get negentropy syncing between notedeck nodes, but its simple!
I think it would be cool if there was a "broadcast to multicast" button for copying notes to other nostr nodes on your network without them going to external relays.
