Ten bodies were found near the Malian army base in Koulikoro region
Residents of several villages confirmed the incident to RFI, but were unable to confirm the number or names of the people whose bodies were found.
The discovery of the bodies has already caused concern among local communities who have begun to question the fate of at least 60 of their relatives who were captured by Malian soldiers and their Wagner counterparts.
So far, the Malian military has not commented on the incident.
The area where the incident occurred is located on the border of three states in Mali, where government forces are battling jihadist fighters from the Jnim group.
