How to properly make coffee with a moka pot 🇮🇹 (things even most Italians dont know) =
Keep the lid open. This prevents condensation from forming and dripping back into the coffee, which would alter its flavor. It also allows you to monitor the brewing process and stop it at the right moment.
Store coffee in the freezer. This helps preserve its freshness and aroma for a longer time.
Fill the water just below the safety valve. If steam starts escaping before the coffee begins to flow, the brewing process is compromised, resulting in poor-quality coffee.
Do not press the coffee in the filter. The ground coffee should be evenly distributed but left loose, not compacted, to ensure proper water flow and optimal extraction.
Stop brewing at the right moment. When the coffee stops flowing smoothly and you see bubbling, what is coming out is no longer coffee but overheated water with residues.
If the coffee rises all the way to the rim, the extraction has gone too far, negatively affecting the taste.
