mochi the #catstr may possibly have used the human toilet last night because despite much comings and goings as he tried to open the window behind the shower - and he did manage to pull it a little more open, there was no wees on the floor anywhere
i did briefly have a period of the shower area being accessible to him, but i didn't particularly notice any smell either
i'm hopeful that once he's got to grips with being stuck in there, and the handy dandy platform to make him backing up to the toilet bowl and letting fly, that he will figure it out himself, but i have to confine him to this space until i'm dead certain he has finally cottoned on, because once he knows he can do toilet on that, he won't bother going anywhere else
part of the trick of cat training is that if you want them to respond to you, then you need a carrot or stick conditioning mechanism, like the actual feeding at the bell trick, but if you need them to respond to their own inner state, they need to not associate it with you, but for them to perceive it as a fact of the environment, so, although he knows i'm preventing him getting out, and not actively letting him back out on request, for many hours he is snoozing there in a half daze pondering the matter of that pesky window that won't open for him
yes, i think i know the mind of the kitty, he is not stubborn he's just too smart to do what i want him to do unless he thinks it's a good idea.
it's also a rather rainy day today i think i won't do my walk around the mountain, or let the cat outside
