I'm sorry to say this, but the politicians out to line their pockets, parachute their nieces into elite careers, and retire after a couple of terms into a Lockheed-Martin directorship aren't the worst (or a majority), in the West.
The worst politicians we have are obsessed with their selfies, press releases, and likes in their social media bubble, while being utterly incurious about their actual jobs or actual outcomes for actual constituents. And they don't seem to care enough to hide it.
This is why the (corrupt) East is growing and diversifying even as the West spirals into Idiocracy and de-industrialisation.
