In 1995, a group of Haitian migrant children detained at the #GITMO launched a desperate attempt at freedom -set fire to tents. Many of the children were weak from a hunger strike. US officials regained control & handcuffed >two dozen young ppl & dragged them away.
They were housed them in shoddy tent cities, ill-suited #detention. When storms came -metal poles of the tents collapsed -camps flooded.
