forgot to mention, i queried only kind 1 events, but i expect majority of events being kind 1. next i'll share statistics of how many kind 1 events are found from only nostr.band for comparison.
i have an idea of slow nostr client. this client would query events once a day. doing heavy lifting task once allows client to query all known relays, such as 800 relays. client would be calm you can check out once a day and no need to watch it throughout the day. however there would be quite enough content and you woudnt necessarily miss any note as it would get all now events once per day.
here are the results from relay.nostr.band:
i got 88592 events. without activitypub events this amounts to 47839 events.
