Hike yesterday on the Frijoles Rim Trail in the Bandelier wilderness, mapping alligator junipers. These trees are somewhat rare in Northern #NewMexico, but one of our group knew a place where there were several,. I turned out there were a lot more than she realized: I counted 28 total, and that's just the alligators that were near the trail. We also got great views of St. Peter's Dome and Friloles Canyon and passed a lot of ancestral puebloan ruins, with obsidian flakes and pot sherds.
