Is there a #GDPR-friendly way to count daily unique website visitors, including unauthenticated ones? As in, not requiring a "this website uses cookies" notice.
Thinking about a cookie that would mean "I've already seen this user today". It would expire at the end of the day (in the server's timezone). If it's not set, the server would increment the unique users counter and set it. Otherwise it would do nothing. This doesn't allow tracking what the user is doing, so it should be fine, right?
