Canadian former MP Ruby Dhalla, a candidate to replace Justin Trudeau as leader of the country's Liberal Party, has been kicked out of the race by the leadership vote committee due to "extremely serious" rule violations. The remaining candidates for Liberal leadership are MP Frank Baylis, former central banker Mark Carney, former finance minister Chrystia Freeland and former House leader Karina Gould. The winner will lead the party into its general election, which must take place on or before Oct. 20 2025.
