yes, he will have served longer as parole will not be considered for someone who proclaims their innocence - as they are not showing the required remorse & self-knowledge - which is all well & good *unless* they actually are innocent.
I think I recall here have been cases where the innocent have lied about it to get parole, and a shorter sentence, just to get out
