Spurgeon is using the same logic as the atheist Connor to try and prove his point.
It's a logical fallacy. An oxymoronic statement.
The statement is false by nature of it's claim.
If you believe it you lose your ability to have original thought with reasoning credence and that ends up denouncing your creative spirit which is imbued with creative reasoning ability by the "creator."
Then you must ask yourself, do you even have knowledge of good and evil? If you do not you can discard the gospels along with any moral argument. Spurgeons quote is false if he believes it to be true.
I argue that it is based in truths but I will not submit to it as an authoratative statement robbing me of my ability to discern truth in the scriptures or natural world through the application of cognitive reasoning.
