Do you see yourself primarily as a *worker* or a *consumer* as it relates to businesses, society, and effecting change?
(or something else?)
If your primary thoughts and forms of protest are around:
- Prices are too high
- Vote with my wallet
- Boycott corporations
...you might approach society primarily as a consumer.
If your primary thoughts and forms of protest are around:
- Wages are too low
- Vote with my voice / ballot
- Form unions to gain leverage against my employer
...you might approach society primarily as a worker.
If your primary thoughts and forms of protest are around:
- Wages are too high and capital costs too much
- Vote with my dollar (not my wallet against corps - but purchase initiatives through lobbying and bribing)
- Break up unions and pursue profit above all else
...you might approach society primarily as a capitalist.
There are many other approaches. Life is not binary.
How do you primarily see yourself and what are your approaches towards effecting change?
